Missing Plane - Cessna with Tail #N2700Q
What can you do??!!

Read this page and contribute any information you can via email
or at the phone numbers provided here.

The Basics:

On Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at 10:43 am, a 1966 Cessna 182, tail# 2700Q, departed Deer Valley Airport near Phoenix (DVT) with full fuel tanks and disappeared. Although no flight plan was filed, it is believed the aircraft was headed for Sedona (SEZ) and was expected to return to Deer Valley that same afternoon or evening.

A Civil Air Patrol search began the
next day but as of today, , no trace of the plane or its two occupants has been found.

A radar contact that dropped off-screen approximately 9 NM SW of Sedona (SEZ), south of Oak Creek Canyon, is thought to have been the missing plane, and this where search efforts have mainly
been concentrated.

The pilot,
William Westover, age 54, is a white male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 230 pounds with whitish grey hair, brown eyes and scars on his left forearm.

The passenger,
Marcy Randolph, age 43, is a white female, 5 feet 3 inches tall, 115 pounds with blonde hair and green eyes.

The intent of this site is to gather background and other information in the event that immediate search efforts are unsuccessful.

Anyone having DIRECT knowledge of this flight or the whereabouts of Marcy and Bill is asked to immediately contact the Phoenix Missing Persons Unit at (602) 261-8042.

Pilots who were aloft on Sunday, 9/24/06 are asked to submit to this site, via message or file, weather and winds encountered, and potential hazards (i.e., mountain wake-turbulence, wind shear, severe downdrafts, etc.), so that we may use that information to help construct flight-simulator scenarios in order to narrow the search areas. Also those who may have spotted N2700Q on the ground at ANY airport after its departure from Deer Valley are asked to contact us via email.

Hikers, ORV enthusiasts, or other persons who were outdoors on Sunday, Sept. 24, and who heard or saw anything (i.e., low-flying aircraft, crash noises, smoke) are also asked to send us their remarks.  These same people are asked to send us their records of any excursions made AFTER Sunday, 9/24/06 -- with GPS info if available -- so that we may mark those areas as already visited and thus "low probability." This is a process of elimination and we need all the help we can get.

Also,
people with whom William Westover or Marcy Randolph may have talked prior to their disappearance, particularly concerning their intended flight and/or destination(s), are asked to send that information here.

Arizona is beautiful but vast, and its northern regions are terrifyingly rugged. As family members of the missing, we pray for
the best but fear the worst. Hopefully, with your help, we will find N2700Q.

THANKS!

The family would like to thank the Civil Air Patrol for all their hard work & support.
